    Position Trainee Accountants
Status Full Time, subject to training contract terms
    Closing Date 31st July 2010

Each year we recruit trainee accountants.

Please apply via our site if the following information matches your profile:

Bright enthusiastic, with good numeric and literacy skills, plus excellent exam passes and looking for an opportunity to develop a professional career?

We offer an excellent structured training scheme, potentially leading to a professional accountancy qualification, generally ACCA.

Training with Milne Craig involves starting out learning basic accountancy skills. Predominately trainees are based in the office in the first year, although there are some opportunities to assist senior staff with basic audit testing.

After picking up the key skills in preparing small business accounts we look to develop our trainees by providing a variety of different business types and some larger jobs.

Trainees will accompany senior staff on larger more complex assignments to expand their knowledge and experience.

Our five year training scheme is an opportunity to become a professionally qualified accountant with a broad range of experience and the necessary skills to take on the challenges of modern life in the finance sector.

    School leavers

Trainees joining us directly from school start by undertaking tuition and examinations for the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification.  This is a building block to provide a qualification in a relatively short period of time and also to prepare our trainees for the rigours of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) examinations.

    College\University Leavers

Are recruited with relevant and non-relevant qualifications. In general trainees on this stream will start working toward the ACCA qualification immediately.

    Honours graduates

Relevant honours degree graduates will immediately start studying for ACCA. The contract can be shortened to 4 years for honours graduates.

    Study

Ultimately we aim to provide the support to enable motivated trainees to pass the ACCA exams.

We have an agreement with Kaplan a leading provider of professional qualifications to provide examination tuition to our trainees. The support provided empowers our trainees with the knowledge necessary for them to make their best attempt at the exams.

    Taxation

From time to time we also recruit university graduates with appropriate qualifications into our tax department direct to study towards becoming a Chartered Taxation Adviser.  Individuals interested in careers in tax should write to Donald Parbrook, Tax Partner, at our office.

    Packages

We provide a competitive starting salary, comprehensive study support, a structured training programme and an excellent working environment.

If you would like to pursue a career in accountancy and have the motivation and educational background to equip you with the drive and skills required. Milne Craig provide an opportunity for you to flourish.

Please apply in writing enclosing a Curriculum Vitae to: Paul Craig. paul.craig@milnecraig.co.uk
